How Does The E-Locker Compare To Other Lockers?

[ Jump To E-Locker Section of Video | Crawlpedia Differential Locker Comparison ]

(E-Locker information starts at 14:17 or click here.)

Eaton E-Lockers are electrically selectable differential lockers that can be engaged or disengaged on-demand with the simple flip of a switch. During normal operation, the Eaton E-Locker acts as an open carrier for smooth turns and efficient torque transfer on high traction surfaces like pavement and packed dirt. When additional traction is needed, all the driver needs to do is flip a switch to send a 12 volt signal to the E-Locker where the proprietary electromagnetic locking mechanism engages to instantly lock the differential. At this point, the E-Locker functions as a spool and sends 100% of the input torque to both drive wheels evenly for maximum traction. Then, when the additional grip is no longer needed, the switch can be flipped off to disengage the locker.

Eaton specifically designed and built the E-Locker for use in 4x4 vehicles and to withstand the abuses of off-roading. Precision forged gears, high strength materials, and high-tech manufacturing procedures make the E-Locker one of the most durable and reliable selectable lockers on the market today. They are easy to install, maintenance free, and completely serviceable.
